Making a Difference Day
Thank you to Steve Stucker of KOB TV and the 7th graders from Hope Christian School for coming to Noon Day on October 18th as part of “Making a Difference Day”. Strike out Homelessness 2011
Thank you to the Albuquerque Isotopes and our partners at Bank of America and French Mortuary for their continued support of “Strike Out Homelessness”. Each time an Isotopes pitcher strikes out an opposing batter Noon Day receives a contribution. This year alone the program raised nearly $9,000 and a check was given to Noon Day in a ceremony during the Isotopes game on August 24.
August 23rd at Noon Day
Today at Noon Day we fed 380 people, which is more than our building can hold in one sitting. By fire department regulations, we had to ask nearly 100 people to wait outside, but we brought them drinks to make sure they stayed hydrated. Fortunately, in the end each person who came to us today was able to eat. We have never seen this many people coming to us and we thank you for your support which allows us to not turn anyone away!
Noon Day Independence Day Celebration
On July 3, we had a festive Independence Day celebration with the support of many of our partners. We served 390 meals during a festive party celebrating our nation’s birthday.
Noon Day Easter Service
Noon Day, partnering with the Rescue Mission, held a service in celebration of Easter for the homeless. Noon day also provided 100 food boxes and sixty Easter baskets for the children. The contents of the food boxes were donated by Sage Brush Church, Hoffmantown Church, and the Road Runner Food Bank. The Easter baskets were donated by First Baptist Church’s Pre-Teen group. The Pre-Teen group held a yard sale and used the proceeds to purchase the items for the baskets, assembled them and took them to the Rescue Mission. Thank you to all who made this event possible which helped us to share the love of Jesus on this most special day!
Record Year at Noon Day
In 2010 Noon Day served 61,692 meals which was the first time we have ever served more than 60,00. In addition to our normal weekday meals, we began serving each Sunday in April. Danny also counseled 1,631 individuals and families seeking to help meet both their physical and spiritual needs.

“Souper” Bowl Sunday
Thank you to our friends at Hoffmantown Church who conducted a “Souper” Bowl Sunday for the Super Bowl collecting cans of soup and other food items and designating Noon Day as the recipient. Hoffmantown brought down an entire truck of canned goods in addition to a generous donation. We greatly appreciate Hoffmantown’s ongoing support for our Ministries!

Record Number Served at Noon Day
On Friday, August 27, Noon Day served 366 meals, an all time high. Sadly, this is another sign of the current economic times that have seen the number of hungry and needy people rise in our community. Thank you for your continued support which allows us to meet the needs of all those who come through our doors!
Fire at First Baptist Church
Late at night on August 18, there was a two-alarm fire at First Baptist Church. Fortunately, the fire was contained by the fire department quickly and did not spread widely. Noon Day’s building is on the same property, but is a separate facility and was not directly affected by the fire. However, as a precaution, electricity and gas were cut to both buildings meaning that we were not able to provide services on August 19 or 20. Fortunately, we were able to reopen for our full range of services on Tuesday, August 24. Thank you for all of your prayers for Noon Day and for God’s homeless children where were without our services during this time.
